Spring Pastels

Piperlime always has the most gorgeous selections of everything under the sun.Yesterday I clicked through Rachel Zoe's picks and found so many stunning items that soon made their way into this ice cream confection palette of pretties. They're all way over my budget but swoon worthy enough to dream about nonetheless.
1. Parker dress - $264
            2. Michael Kors watch - $180
                          3. Juicy Couture double finger ring - $
      4. Isabel Lu blouse - $148
       5. Fossil messenger - $108
  6. Tucker blouse - $286
       7. MM Couture dress - $92

The Pants, Oh the Pants!

 I've recently discovered the fashion-linked term "man repeller" and I realized that there are plenty of items in my wardrobe that fit the bill. Such items might include big, unnecessary glasses, certain hats, oversized fur vests, ankle socks (under heels), mid-calf skirts, oversized rings, and high waist pants. I'm sure I could find more; certainly there's plenty seen coming down the runways. Haha! Well, this pair of wildly flowered pants is one of those dear lovelies that makes me oh-so happy but quite possibly would make the huz avoid being seen in a room with me. I'm lucky he was willing to photograph me at all, hanging out together in our driveway for the world to see.

Something Yummy

This morning I'm snacking on hot cross buns. Reminds me of when we were kids and those delicious English delicacies we indulged in in South Africa, which these don't even come close to. But they're still good, especially warmed up and smeared with butter. Yes, I know ... but it can be our little secret.
And an outfit to match (well, sort of)! I've been dying to whip out my fuschia tights of late, inspired by several (color blocking enthusiast) fashion bloggers that just love their brightly colored tights. I wasn't brave enough to punch up the color all the way to my neck, so instead I added this ruffled skirt with tiny flowers in the same happy pink. And I'm excited to haul out my ancient braided belt once again (back from my young-and-free Hollister wearing days ;). It seems to be going everywhere with me lately.
{All quite old: blazer - Express, sweater - Gap, belt - Hollister, skirt - Charlotte Russe, tights - Target, boots - Goodwill}

On the Tube

Saw this hilariously cute video after a friend sent it my way and I love it. Not an uncommon problem :).

Over the Weekend...

We had a very relaxing weekend. How about you? Or perhaps you had much to accomplish? I've had plenty of those too. We did have a yucky stomach bug bothering us at the beginning of week's end but it soon went it's not-so-merry way and we celebrated its farewell with a movie afternoon of Planet 51 and popcorn on the couch. Also had a game and dessert night with friends, soccer practice, a reading stop at Starbucks (tiramisu cake pop in hand - super yum!), and plenty of laundry and floor washing. They're now sparkly clean, just the way I like them.

On Saturday afternoon we sprawled out in the sun that poured through our windows and enjoyed more than a few snuggles.
Peekaboo - the gleeful game that never tires.
Pre-school prep training
Student council president campaign speech practice session
We whipped up a delicious and oh-so-summery fruit pizza.
{sugar cookie dough + cool whip mixed with key lime yogurt + fruit = perfection for kids and adults alike!}

Worked on my "cat eye" and that elusive upwards flick. Such a tricky little thing for me.

A Gift Review - CSN

 I was lucky enough to receive this peel and stick wall decal from CSN Stores a couple of weeks ago and they asked me to review it here for them. It's a product made by Room Mates for Kids and while I loved the look of it online, I was even more impressed with it in person. I thought it would look great in my "fireplace room" because of the blues and greens that already decorate that space. Plus, the room is a wonderful spot to lounge in the spring and summer months opening out into a backyard full of trees, so a summery tree indoors sort of works here.
It was very simple to create and I even had an excited little helper to accomplish this.
 There were also 3 cute butterflies in the package but I decided not to use them this time.
Thanks CSN! We love it!
