A Family Yearbook

Our first family photo book arrived in the mail today and I was thrilled with the results. I have, up to now, spent oodles of time scrap booking and slipping photos into albums, year after year. I really wasn't too into the idea of a pre-made photo book, as it just seemed ...I don't know, not creative I suppose. I felt like I needed to be able to hand write something to make it special. But after coming across an impressive album online made with My Publisher, I thought I'd give it a try. They seem to run 50% off deals constantly so the cost is comparable to self printing and purchasing empty albums to fill. The biggest benefit? They're much more space friendly, meaning they don't take up endless shelf space in my home. Huge! And you know how I love myself a good coffee table book. Well here's another.

The negative with these books is that (1) they're time consuming to create (but so are scrapbooks) and (2) it seems that there are "tricks to the trade". After seeing the final product I realize what I'll focus on adding on next time and what I'll change. All in all it looks pretty good and My Publisher even asked if they could share it at their site, as an example of a customer created book. Cool!

Here are a few of my favorite pages.
It's obvious that we need to get daddy in front of the camera too!

Don't forget to enter the giveaway here! It's your chance to win a lovely quilt and the winner will be announced tomorrow. Till then ...
