Oh, and Happy Mother's Day!

Being a mom has, for me, been the most inspiring thing in the world. More than all the best blogs and hours I've spent on Pinterest combined. Ha!

It's made me a far better person than I used to be. It's given me tons and tons of joy, something that I think I often lacked when I was younger. It's encouraged me to be smarter, but in a difference sense than before; to be smart about my words and my decisions. Smart about the things I say and do as they all seem to have a profound an effect on my future, as my kids drink up everything and regurgitate it all in words and actions. And yes, sometimes it's as gross as it sounds. But then there are times when it's sweet, sweet, sweet and I acknowledge the fact that it's learned. Learned from their daddy and I.

Being a mom has enabled me to be more selfless, to care less for my needs and my wants. Not a bad thing, in a world that encourages us to be so self-centered. This is something that I've always attempted to do in life, to live for Someone else instead of myself. My faith has urged me to do that but I never fully grasped the concept until I had children. My kids make my faith much clearer to me. They cause me to love God so much more. How could I not? They are His gifts to me.

They teach me to be better, to be the kind of person I've always intended to be but have often failed at being. I have more patience, self control, unconditional love, and kindness despite the circumstance.

Thank you, boys,  for being everything to me (and husband, don't be sad, cause you are too :). I can wait on my dreams if it means that I get to be your mom. I love you so much.

And mom, happy mother's day to you. I love you so much and am so thankful for what you've done for us and for the life you've made possible for us.

Happy Mother's Day to all moms. :)
