A Fashion Photo Shoot

Today I thought I'd share a sneak preview of the photos I took for the feature article of Green Bay's YOU Magazine, our fabulous fall fashion issue out on news stands on September 18th. This shoot features clothing from 3 local boutiques, The Ultimate Closet, Wear 180 Resale, and Lady Savannah. The article describes "the art of laid back layering", one of my absolute favorite things about the transition into fall. Layers are so very lovely!

We shot these pictures downtown, beginning at my favorite little coffee shop Kavarna (the.most.delicious.treats) and meandering down the road to see what cool spots we could find.
{this picture stole the cover!}

I had a huge crush on this 70's dress and the amazing vintage boots hidden underneath, but alas, they were both too small (worn here by beautiful Wendy). I mean, just look how gorgeous it looks on her (below). Sometimes one of the trickiest processes for me is keeping in mind (shopping, styling, and writing for) the YOU demographic, age 34 - 54. I would love for it to somehow include the 20 somethings. Which makes me think ... I wonder what the demographic is for say, In Style? Or Lucky and Elle. Suppose I could look into that. Might be insightful. But it's a great challenge for me too, that push to create looks for varied age groups.

Outfit from Wear 180

{full disclosure: in this case, I preferred the look minus the layers}
 Rebecca looks cute and cozy in Lady Savannah. I loved those mustard jeans on her!
 And Kirsten takes a summer skirt into fall with a few warm layers from The Ultimate Closet.
