A Look Inside a South African Home

Hello friends! I'm back with another set of photos taken on my trip to South Africa. Finally right?! I've been hard at work on my photography website which is now LIVE and ready for you to take a peek. Please do! It's www.kirstygungorphotography.com

So as you can see, I've been much more focused on creating a place to showcase my photography and build that business and quite a bit less time enjoying all the simple joys in life that I usually make time for. I have to admit being a little sad to not be creating outfit posts and photographing our summer days here in Green Bay, but I really do want to make time for that again as it's such a huge love of mine. But there's a time and a season for everything and for right now, it's all about entertaining and feeding my little tribe at home while they're on their summer break. And honestly, there's really not much energy left in me for anything else, though I'm craving some creativity in my life again as I'm feeling quite blah in that department.

In the meantime, photographing families and seniors is a welcome opportunity for me to get those creative juices flowing on many of these hot summer evenings, and I'm having a blast meeting lots of new little babies, families and graduating seniors and creating beautiful memories for them to have forever.

I've also been working on several fun projects for Green Bay's YOU magazine and the Green Bay Press Gazette and can't wait to share those shoots with you bit by bit.

In the meantime, please enjoy these pictures that I took while in South Africa. This home belongs to my "other mother", Aunty Annette. I spent much of my childhood at the Marx home, time spent with my best friend Raschika, and this is her family's stunning home. Her parents have always had exquisite taste and I think most of my own design and decor influences come from them. There are so many incredible details to take in, so I tried to get some of it for you. And then we did a little photo sesh on their rooftop with the kids and Jurgen, her husband. Not sure where she disappeared to? She's super camera shy and maybe if I mention it here, she'll let me share some of the pictures from the glamorous little photo shoot we did together while I was there. It was a blast and just a bit crazy. Jurgen is a professional photographer himself, so how could we not?! Please Chika!!!

Love you guys and miss you so!
