Lots of Layers

 I'm keeping warm on this chilly Wednesday by piling on the layers. In fact, with this fur vest warming me up I find that I have no need for a coat. Yaaaaaaay! Sometimes a coat just ruins a great outfit, doesn't it?   :)

Tale of a Tree

On Saturday we began our Christmas decorating. It started with a trip to find the perfect tree. Papa helped us with this endeavor as the daddy was out of order for the day.

And then home we fled, hot cocoa warming on the stove as we slipped our santa hats on.

We especially love these tiny wooden ornaments that I came across at Goodwill. 

We're still waiting on a handmade garland to top it off, but in the meantime ...

Sunday best {pleated gold}

I recently spotted this ensemble in my newest Lucky mag and realized that I had a very similar skirt (seen in all it's glory here originally) and a black blazer has become a closet staple for everyone, so I've got that covered too. So I tore it out and stuck it with the pile of dusty torn inspiration pages for a rainy day. Said day arrived yesterday and here is the result.

I added a cable sweater instead of a blouse, as it made it a little more comfortable for me. I'm constantly finding inspiration from looks worn by fashion-loving girls all over the web or mags, but when I copy them they are always interpreted in a more laid back way. Not sure if I'm too scared to go all out or if I just don't have a place to wear that same outfit, all out. Probably the latter. If I had opportunity, I think I'd be all over it! 

Truly, I love to dress like every day is a special occasion. 

It's what makes me happy. Just does.

A Day in the Life {thanksgiving style}

Just a few pictures from our Thanksgiving before I go to bed. It's been a long one today ... 

... the huz broke his thumb playing soccer last Sunday (he's the goalie, just in case you were wondering how that happened) and today he had surgery to repair it. Amazingly.long.day. 

But the good thing is he had some itty bitty lights installed so that it glows in the dark, just for Monty. 

My sister and I drinking home made sangria (will have to post recipe soon). 

 My niece Adorlee wanted to take some pictures too. So here are a couple she took of me and then I took a few of her.
