Today ...

Gosh, today started off badly. Little E woke up at 5:45am! And he doesn't call for his mommy sweetly and quietly. He yells my name over and over at the top of his lungs which means that I have to go to him immediately because he'll soon wake the entire house. The last thing I want is 3 children up for the day. It would be completely ruined if that were the case (how do you last for that many hours without many, many melt downs?). Already I felt like I would not recover, just from that 5:45 wake up call. I'm a terrible early morning person. Really grotesque. And I'm not sure if it was a direct result of the unwelcome dawn or if it was due to the forward flips I not-too-elegantly maneuvered for the kids on the trampoline yesterday, but my back, neck, shoulders and head were aching. Ugh!

So it's 4:45pm now and I'm significantly better. But I still had to endure a drive around the entire city of Green Bay because the one park that we chose to visit was closed! Actual sign across the road, blocking it, closed. Insanity! And every flipping road in GB is under construction this summer which is just about the most excruciating experience each time we need to venture to the west side. So we circled back home and I thought I'd take them to another, closer park. But then Elliot fell asleep (not good news) and we went home to put him to bed. Of course he'd have nothing of it and was wide awake on soon as his head hit that pillow.

So in the car we piled again and this time we made a stop at the park just up the road. My big boys were kind enough to allow me to nap this afternoon, once E (gratefully) napped. I even slept in Monty's twin bed ... long story.

After my nap I felt so much better. Even grabbed a moment to go and vote. And now we're off to the airport to pick up my grand parents. So all is well ... But it's been a long, long day.
