A Family Photo Session {for Eric of Carbon Copy Studios}

Hello friends! Hope you are all having a beautiful week so far. It's been such perfect fall weather in this part of the country and I'm feeling pretty spoiled. We're usually quite cold already by Halloween but I suppose I have 2 days to go. So hopefully I didn't jinx that, huh? Ha!

I wanted to a share a family photo shoot with you today, one of my dear photographer friend Eric (owner of Carbon Copy Studios) and his sweet little family. Eric has done so much work with me for YOU magazine as well as some of my personal family photos and I am a HUGE fan of his work. So I was excited and honored to get the chance to be the one behind the camera for him this time.

Fall Goodness {all jammed into one colorful post}

 {overalls & sneaks - Target, sweater - T J Maxx}

I love plaid pants and each season I want a pair. But I've never found any that actually look good on so it's never happened. I think a dark, forrest green pair would be amazing for the holidays. So I found this sweet pair recently, a sorta punky, baggy plaid for $24 and thought, hey, I think I'm gonna give this trend a try. They're actually overalls which is even better cause I'm a huge sucker for overalls. Anyway ...

Hunting for Acorns {mama and mini style}

It's terribly entertaining to follow this one around with a camera, to just watch it all unfold on its own. I sat on the grass and did just that and I can see a lot of her 2 year old personality in these photos. First of all, you'll notice that she talks to me the whole time. Whereas any one of her brothers at this age would have searched the garden for acorns and pine cones without saying too much (varying degrees of that with each of the guys but they're masters at absentmindedly thinking about nothing in particular), she articulates every single thought that pops in her head. It's seriously cute ... and something I have to get used to as well. Talking takes a lot of time, doesn't it? ;)
Some of Scarlet's favorite things:

Her new gold sparkly boots from Ouma
Creating careful piles of collections around my house
Not being hurried ... ever (her most used word right now is "wait")
Talking constantly in the effort to describe her every thought in great, GREAT detail
