Denim and Stripes

Hello lovelies! Today is our first day of summer break and we're heading to Disney World with our family to get this beautiful summer started. Suitcases are packed full of 90-something degree outfits that will likely still be too hot for our littles, though the boys are adamant they will not be seen in a tank top. Hah!

Can't wait to share our trip to Florida with you all! But in the meantime, I have these photos to share with you today. We have the most stunning parks and beaches here in Wisconsin and on this particular occasion, I met my friend Eric (Eric Shwanke Photography) at the shores of Bayshore Park. It was a gorgeous spring evening and the sun was all sorts of pretty. There's nothing better than shooting on an evening like this, when the outdoors just begs for it.

As summer arrives I'm always drawn to classic stripes for dresses and separates alike, and this easy-breezy dress is a perfect, super comfy piece both for dressing up or for easy chill afternoons like those relaxed visits to the farmer's market for fresh flowers and a fun drink (hopefully serve in a huge pineapple!). For this occasion I was a little more dressy, adding a touch of fancy with an amazing floral bracelet and sparkly flower ear rings.

Dress - Target
Sandals - Urban Outfitters
Denim jacket - (old) Hollister
Bracelet - J. Crew
Ear rings - Bauble Bar for Target

Thank you so much to Eric Shwanke Photography for collaboration got this post.

Our Family Photos

So excited to share our family pictures with you all! We met up with my friend Eric, owner of Eric M Schwanke Photography (check out his new, beautiful website!), and captured some sweet moments of my little tribe in all their wild glory. The 2 boys were, unfortunately, not very well behaved and spent much of their time running through the forest throwing leaves, pine needles and mushrooms. Drove me completely nuts but I kept my cool well enough to get some pretty shots. Ah the vision that plays in my head of our very unpleasant struggle to "make memories that will last a lifetime". And so they shall.

Thank you Eric for being patient with us and giving us these sweet images. They are already on my living room walls and I always cherish these family shoots with you. Not sure how you did it but we got some gorgeous, calm shots.
(Having a quick yell at the one who refuses to stand still ... and look how cute the rest of them are!)
Lovely cedar crowns created by Ebb and Flow Fowers, but she wouldn't wear it to match her mommy. All our best plans out the window when you deal with family shoots right?!

The face of incredulity. We had to run off that craziness.
 Much better!
And then the really peaceful shots 💗
